Adebowale Oyerinde, Ph.D.
Doctoral degree discipline: Nutritional science with a research focus on volatile organic compounds and childhood obesity
Awarding institution: Auburn University (2025)
Current postdoctoral position/field: Postdoctoral fellow / analytical chemistry
Auburn University department: Chemistry & Biochemistry (College of Sciences and Mathematics)
Postdoctoral faculty mentor: Dr. Ahmed M. Hamid
Areas of research interest/expertise:
- Discrimination of foodborne bacteria using whole-omics profiling by LC–IM–MS/MS in combination with machine learning algorithms
-
My research focuses on the integration of ion mobility with liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–IM–MS) for biomarker discovery. Currently, this approach is being applied to foodborne illnesses and Alzheimer’s disease to facilitate the identification and discrimination of biomarkers that differentiate healthy from diseased individuals, thereby providing novel insights and enabling real-time disease diagnostics.
Other accomplishments:
- Author of eight peer-reviewed publications with over 140 citations
- Contributed to the development and optimization of LC-IM-MS/MS method
