Endeavor Auburn University

Endeavor is Auburn University's Electronic Research Administration (eRA) system for managing research administration and compliance activities. Endeavor streamlines proposal development, submissions, approvals, awards, agreement negotiation, faculty pre-approvals for external engagements, and conflict of interest disclosures.

It also supports creation, submission, and approvals of compliance protocols for the Human Participant Protection Program/Institutional Review Board (IRB), the Biological Safety Program/Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Endeavor brings all research-related processes into one system facilitating transparency, efficiency, and collaboration across the research lifecycle.

This module facilitates the Employee's annual disclosure, review, and monitoring of interests, relationships, and external activities to comply with institutional and federal regulations. It also supports pre-approval review process of external activities per university policy.

Institutional Review Board (IRB)

The IRB module supports the ethical conduct of research involving human subject participants. It allows investigators to create and submit IRB protocols for review and obtain necessary approvals to comply with federal regulations.

Grants and Agreements

The Grants and Agreements module allows investigators and research administrators to manage their sponsored research funding and other non-financial agreements. It allows for creation and submission of proposals to outside funding agencies, and system-to-system proposal submission to federal opportunities hosted in Grants.gov. The Office of Sponsored Programs accepts, negotiates, and processes new awards, subagreements, and modifications through this module.

It is also used by investigators and the Office of Intellectual Property Exchange to review and negotiate non-financial agreements such as Non-Disclosures Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements and Data Use Agreements, among others.

Institutional Animal Care and Use

The IACUC module allows investigators to create and submit Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols using system-provided forms, specific protocol team or standard library of procedures, species, and substances for review and obtain necessary approvals to comply with applicable regulations and institutional policies.

Endeavor may be intermittently unavailable every Friday from 10:00-11:00 PM (CST) and the third Saturday of each month from 1:30-11:30 PM (CST) during maintenance.

Brief interruptions may occur on select Tuesdays at 6 PM (CST) for configuration patches.
