Research Administration and Economic Development

Get the resources and assistance you need to bring your research project to life. The Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and Economic Development (OSVPRED) oversees departments and offices tasked with ensuring the successful funding and implementation of Auburn's research projects.
Focus Areas

Auburn Research is comprised of hundreds of projects representing every area of study offered by our 12 colleges. Those projects are guided by four key focus areas, with each devoted to exploring and overcoming particular issues and challenges.

Targeting food waste through better sell-by dates

Researchers at Auburn University are addressing food waste by studying how meat spoils at the microbial level. If scientists develop a better method of predicting spoilage, meat packers could affix more accurate “best by” or “sell by” dates, leading to less thrown-out meat.

Officials from the Auburn Research and Technology Foundation (ARTF), the City of Auburn and its Industrial Development Board (IDB), and Auburn University gathered in the Auburn Research Park (The Park) yesterday to mark the construction of a world-class laboratory and to formally announce the beginnings of a 45-acre advanced manufacturing research district.
